Class 2-208 Newsletter!
Number 3, October 27, 2003
Hello, everyone! I hope that you had a wonderful weekend. I loved getting that extra hour from Daylight Savings Time!
On Oct. 23, we visited the Green Meadow Pumpkin Farm. The students rode ponies, milked a cow, caught chickens, fed sheep, and went on a hayride. And they each brought back a pumpkin! A special thank you to Shauntay’s dad, Anthony Levy’s mom, and Isaiah’s mom for coming with us as chaperones!
On Nov. 5, the students will expand their understanding of Native Americans by viewing the Red Hawk Native American Dance Company. If you haven’t gotten a chance to send the permission slip or the $5, please send them with your child as soon as you can. Thanks!
We will not be celebrating Halloween in our class. Please do not send your child in a Halloween costume. Friday will be a busy day. It will be Picture Day. Students will be taking their individual pictures if their family pays the $20 for the picture package. We will also be parading in the P.S. 20 Literature Parade. Our class chose The Three Bears by Paul Galdone and the school will be parading starting at about 2:15PM. Classes will be lining up in the schoolyard. Families are welcome to come see us parade!
-Picture Day for second-grade and others who missed the first one.
-P.S. 20 Literature Parade
Tuesday, November 4- Election Day. No school for students.
Wednesday, November 5- Red Hawk Native American Dance Company Trip
Did you recently get a better computer for your home? Did your job recently upgrade to new computers? If so, we can use the PC computer that you no longer need. Not only would a donation of a computer benefit the students, but it would also be fully tax-deductible. Your donation would allow us to have a computer in our classroom to supplement the computers available in our computer lab.
Thank you again to our trip chaperones. Thank you to ***’s mom and any other family members who have been volunteering at our school. Thank you also to the family members whom I’ve talked with regarding the children. The easiest way for me to communicate with you is probably if you send a note with your child. Otherwise, I can be reached at ***. Together, we can help the children succeed!
